Awesome Video

Posted by Josh Stringer

I know that most of you that read this are of the female persuasion and don't care so much about sports. I, however, must post this video for the sake of coolness. I have been more interested in the NBA playoffs this year than usual. Partly b/c the Hawks are playing (although playing poorly). Mostly b/c the teams are awesome and there's not as much showboating as in the past. This video really has nothing to do with the playoffs but it features Kobe Bryant who plays for the Lakers and will probably win the championship. Heck, this video is probably not even real..but still, super cool.

Seminary Update...

Posted by Shana Stringer

This week will be 30 days out from graduation at SBTS. So, we are hoping to hear something soon to the tune of, "we have a open spot in housing for you." We had to make a decision about the summer session, if we didn't get into on-campus housing. The decision we made was that Josh would still go start classes in the summer, but would commute for them. Summer classes are only a week long. Josh will have to drive over for the week and just come home afterwards. This is kind of a bummer, but at least we will not be held up with school. Of course this could mean, even with waiting till August to get housing, that there still will be no openings. Well, if this happens we will throw our hands up in surrender and go get an apartment off campus. The excitement begins because from now until the first day of school we could get a phone call or email saying there is an opening, and we will hurry our stuff to KY. If you think about us please pray that we would get on-campus. We trust that if it doesn't happen than God has a plan for even that small of a detail.

With that said, The Fresh Market, has been playing with my position. They have gone from working me barely to working me full-time. Well, it figures when I get in a comfortable spot they have to change it, but this time not for the good. It seems they are going to hire a new full-time person, which will take the majority of my hours away. I have asked numerous times to be transferred to a different department, but they are reluctant because they know I am leaving soon. When they hire a new person, I am most likely going to need to look for a different job. I am in limbo because of the current status of our housing in KY. I am kind of all over the place. I really want to keep my resume intact for when I am job hunting in KY. I am not certain, but I think it doesn't look good when I have places of employment on my resume for only a few months at a time.

What are your thoughts?

Online Savings

Posted by Shana Stringer

I need some help in a new venture. Currently Josh and I have a traditional savings account. We have notice our interest rate falling drastically. I had heard and seen online that the online savings accounts have way better interest rates, but I have been a little hesitant to do it because I am afraid to transfer my money to a fake bank or something. If anybody has any experience with this please help.

Quick Update on EXPELLED! The Movie

Posted by Josh Stringer

Just an update on Expelled!

Last week I went to a conference on Creationism led by Ken Ham (not to be confused with Kent Hovind who is in jail). Ken Ham is more of a culture combatant rather than a crazy sci-fi guy. Anyway, he talked about this movie quite a bit. One thing he pointed out is that this is NOT a Christian movie. It's made by Ben Stein, who is Jewish and promotes Intelligent Design. ID is NOT a Christian concept. It is a combination of faiths who basically agree that some "intelligent force," not an accident, created the universe. ID is NOT based on the Bible. This is where Creationism would be the scientific/biblical "theory" of choice. However, this is not to say that Expelled! is a bad movie. I will be seeing it. It raises a lot of important questions that combat our culture of anti-Christian and anti-faith scientists. Just keep all this in mind as you watch. ID does not promote our God as the ultimate Creator of the universe. It's almost a half-truth, or really a 1/4-truth. Don't fall into the trap of letting culture dictate what we believe about the Bible.

Todays Fun!

This was Josh's toy today. He was blowing leaves with this monster.

I bought some really cute bunny ears from Target's dollar bin today. I guess you could say I tortured my dogs with them. But they look adorable in these pictures.

I don't know what Zoe was doing with her eyes, but she looks so doppy and silly in this picture.

This is the leftover container that holds fresh ground peanut butter, my babies favorite. So, I finished up the peanut butter and gave them the container. Zoe got the bottom half and was totally oblivious to me putting the ears on her. No worries, Bogie at the cap of the container.
