I can hardly believe I only have 10 weeks to go. This is a picture I took on Friday. Sorry it has taken until now to actually get it on to the blog. I am glad there are only 10 weeks left because my energy is depleting by the day. One thing I don't like about my huge tumor (imagine me saying that with a Arnold Schwarzenegger accent) is I can't reach my toes. As of right now in the middle of summer I have unpainted and yucky toes. It is pretty hard to even tie my sneakers. I am debating on using my Easter money to go and get a pedicure.
Another quick update. Work is extremely slow. They might be making some changes and that could mean job losses (but I don't really think that will happen). They might cut our hours back or do something creative. I don't know. In the mean time, we don't have a lot to do here in the office. I get bored out of my mind most of the time. So, if any of ya'll know of cool websites to kill boredom that would be great.
Ok so every morning I get up and take our dogs outside to do their potty business right. We have bags attached to their leashes in order to clean up after them, and we also have potty stands in our apartment complex area to get free bags. We use these more then our own because they are free. Ok, before I get off subject. Well Bogie is going number 2 this morning like he does every morning like clock work. He is doing his thing. I bend over to pick up his mess. Josh comes out to go to work so I walk over after picking up his mess to kiss him good-bye and a woman driving by stops to ask me if I was aware of a $25 dollar fine for not picking up dog poop. I look at her most likely with a pretty dirty look because in the moment I loose control of my facial expressions and anybody who knows me knows that I have gotten in trouble in the past for not realizing what I was thinking was written all over my face. (I digress again) Anyways I show her my poop bag. She proceeds to ask me if I picked up all of it, with that mommy tone in her voice. I was like yes lady are you stinking kidding me. I should of told her to go inspect it for her approval. This really got my blood boiling this morning. Seriously, Josh and I pick up our dog poop every time. I was thinking to myself, what did she think I was doing pretending to pick up my dogs poop. And to ask me if I am picking up "all" my dog poop is crazy, why would I only pick up half my dog poop. It all comes out together. I am sorry I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and don't pretend bend over for anything. I don't know what else to say but that really made me mad.
P.S. I don't know all who reads this and I highly doubt this lady reads my blog although on a day like today I wish she did, but if you want to tell someone to pick up their dog poop go get onto the the parents of the kids that walk their dogs in our complex and tell them to pick up their dog poop.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! Can you tell that really made me mad. It was like an older woman was trying to give me a spanking for no good reason. CRAZY!
So we went to the doctor yesterday after I got off work. It was a really quick appointment. There were student doctors in our office, it was neat. I thought to myself, o my goodness Grey's Anatomy right. Not really. Well, a 4th year med student came in first and asked random questions. You could tell he was really nervous, but then later the doctor came in with him. I told you before I don't normally see the doctor, I see the midwife in the office. Well, the doctor felt around with his hands for the position of the baby. That was really cool. So, the baby's head is facing down where it needs to be. I hope it stays that way. The doctor was showing the med student how to feel for the baby, and then he showed Josh how to do it too. It was really neat. So, Josh got to feel our babies head. He says he is going to try this maneuver at home sometime. Our baby might be brain dead depending on how often he wants to shake our babies head. Just kidding really on the brain dead. Doctor said I needed to watch my sugar. Super bummer! So please all of you out there don't tempt me with your sweet things, I am super weak.
Can you believe how fast my pregnancy has been going? I sure can't. I sure am feeling it though. Someone the other day said I didn't look as far along as I was, that made me feel good because I sure do feel like I am 29 weeks = 7 months.
Just found out the results from my 4 1/2 hour glucose test, I am fine. I knew it! Josh and I have an appointment with an OB today. Most midwifes have to practice under an OB, and it is policy in this office that we at least visit with the OB on the off chance he delivers our baby. Jesse (my midwife) assures me though she delivers like 99.9% of her patients babies. That is one thing that I loved about the office I am going to. It is so small so the midwife I am building a relationship with will 9 times out of 10 be the one that actually delivers my baby. In the other doctors offices we interviewed there was like a 1 in 10 chance, that didn't sit well with me. There are two things we'll probably have to deal with in the office today 1)I tested positive for group B strep early on, and usually once you test positive once they label you that your entire pregnancy and you have to be on antibiotics during labor. Well, I want to be tested again because I would prefer not to have to be on antibiotics during labor. 2)My FSA won't pay anymore of my global fee that is "policy" for the doctors office. Every visit I have been paying a flat fee. Well my FSA account won't reimburse me anymore because there aren't any more charges left, I am pretty much prepaying for labor and delivery. I am sure that will go over well today when I try and wiggle my way out of not paying any more payments towards that. The woman on the phone said that was their office "policy." I work in an office I know what that means, rules can be changed. So, we'll see how that goes.
Then after that appointment we are off to our Bradley method classes. Josh and I are really enjoying what we are learning, just kind of wish we could insert that data in our brains and save the time of attending class. It is just one more thing in the week we have to do on top of everything else. We feel like we are better prepared after every lesson. I think today we are going to start talking about the first stage of labor.
Josh got a treat today. He went to a movie in the actual theater with Ben, one of our new friends up here from church. He called and told me it was awesome. I was super happy he got to go see a movie, ooo you are probably wondering which one, I think it was called Star Trek or Star Wars. I am sure he will blog about that soon. We haven't been to a movie in the theater since James Bond. I know crazy right, we are saving our next movie theater adventure for when Harry Potter comes out. I can't wait!! Judge me if you might, but I love that series.
I cut a steak for Papa John today. I can't remember his last name. John something. Anyway, he lives here and apparently likes the Fresh Market. I got to advise him on his steak and then cut him a nice prime filet. Only the best right? I figured he could afford it. He was really nice and respectful.
Shana and I started watching "John Adams" tonight. Its the HBO series with Paul Giamatti in it. He's one of my favorite actors. Our friends Ben and Cynthia let us borrow it. So far so really good.
I did my 4 and 1/2 hour glucose test this morning. It wasn't to bad till the end. Then I started to really feel the effects of not eating and just having sugar in my stomach. I have to have passed this thing. I came home and ate an egg sandwich and took a nap to sleep off the nausea and gitters from it. Thanks for all your comments and encouragement about my test. Hopefully I will know something soon about the test.
Tonight we had dinner with the Northrups. They are some of our great friends from church. Ben and Melissa are part of our student ministry. Angie made this great Mexican Lasagna and of course we had ice cream for dessert. Then we watched Tim Hawkins. He's the guy who does the Chic-Fil-A song. If you haven't seen it search for him on YouTube.
On the way there we stopped and got some flowers at the Kroger for a hostess gift. I dropped Shana off at the door and drove around the parking lot. As I was circling back around I noticed a Chinese restaurant (I always have trouble spelling "restaurant"). The name of this place was "The Emperor of China." I thought it to be a funny name. I wonder what a Chinese person would think of such a name? Do they name restaurants in China that serve burgers with a side of high fructose corn syrup "The President of the United States?" Maybe just "Barak's Place." I'm just sayin' its a weird name.
So today at lunch Josh got to see the baby moving in my stomach. I mean you could see his movement through my stomach because he was moving close to the surface I guess. It was really neat for him to get to see that. He freaked out. I see it all the time, but like I said my favorite experiences are watching Josh experience things. It was really neato.
Bad news - I took my glucose test yesterday, and I have to go back because I failed it. I have to do the 4 1/2 hour test now. Totally not excited about it.
